You said YES!!!! now what?!?!?!

Just Engaged?!?!  Here are your top 10 "Things to do" First.

1. Tell Everyone!!!  A post on Facebook, twitter, mass text, or a funny ecard are great ways to let friends and family know of your new engagement!!

2. Plan an Engagement Party~Celebrate
your occassion, large or small-
have fun~ YOU'RE ENGAGED!!!

3.Venue and Date- Waste no time here, venues book quickly and your guests calendar also fill up fast.  The more notice the better chance you will have everyone you have ever wanted there to share your special day with you!!

4. Make a Wedding Website- Believe me your guests will LOVE you for it!!  This is a great place for guests to find all of the information and updates on your big day!  Also where you're registered!!

5. Set your Budget - you need to know what you are able to spend and then prioritze where you want money to go.

6. Engagement Pics!!  Smile this is fun!! Not only is this great practice in front of the camera for you and your hubby to be you end up with awesome pictures capturing your happiness and excitement as a newly engaged couple.  This will also allow the photographer to get to know you and see what looks and works best ensuring you the best possible pictures on the big day!!  Also make great save the dates!

8. Consider a Consultant ~Planning a wedding isn't for everyone.  It can be a very stressful process.  A consultant (such as Perfectly Planned) can ease that stress and help you providing professional services.  Even if it's just the day of enjoying your engagement and wedding and not worrying about the details should be top priority!!

9.Guest List....Probably the most dreaded task during the wedding planning process.  Here is what I always say: as your wedding is an intimate event and the most important day of your life~invite only those that you would have over to your home for a dinner party.

10. Finding THE one!!!  Try on as many dresses as you possibly can (different styles, colors, details, etc) a lot of brides end up with the most amazing dress and it was one they never expected to love.   Some dresses can take up to 9 months to come in, so give yourself plenty of time!!

Julie and Brandon's Engagement Party

He got down on one knee and made her the happiest girl in the world!!  Of course the next thing on the agenda is to celebrate your engagement with all of your family and friends.  For Julie and Brandon I worked with their wedding party to plan a spectacular event in a rooftop party room in Arlington, VA with picture perfect views of Washington DC from the outside terrace.  The decorations were blue and yellow which would later be their wedding colors.  A champagne toast by the father of the bride, a delicious cake, a wide array of light appetizers, family and friends was a exciting wonderful beginning to their engagement!

June Beach Wedding in Tampa, FL

It's hard to not have perfect planning success with beautiful weather, the beach, and an absolutely gorgeous bride! I worked with Jill (the Bride) for 9 months planning her perfect day! The big day came, all of the hard work payed off, and everything was picture perfect! A ceremony on the beach with personal written vows by the bride and groom followed by a bright beach themed reception at the near by hotel.

Winery Tour- Bachelorette Weekend!!

What an amazing way to spend your "last fling before the bling."  For Jill (the bachelorette) I planned an amazing weekend with all of her best girl friends, included was an entire day of wine tours near Lake Monticello, VA.  Transportation was arranged ahead of time which picked the girls up at 11am and chauffeured them through the rolling hills of Southern, VA stopping at 3 magnificent wineries where tastings had been pre-arranged.  The girls all had a blast, bought numerous bottles and cases of wine, and the bachelorette had her picture perfect last fling!  The bus dropped them off back at the house where they were staying for a cookout and many exciting bachelorette games!

Fabulous at 50!!

When my mom turned 50 we went all out throwing her a Surprise party to remember! We pulled out all the stops for the party we threw at her house. I had a margarita machine brought in, Karaoke machine on the main tv, a video highlighting her life from birth to 50, a ton of excellent food, great friends and family, and a fabulous 50 year old mother who by the way had noooo idea! I had also made a fabulous at 50 display board and we had a "50 Fabulous Facts about Debbie" for crowd participation!

Dewey Beach Bachelorette Weekend!!

For Lauren (the Bachelorette) FUN was the name of the game and a fantastically fun weekend with all of her friends is what she got!  The girls all drove up or flew into Dewey Beach, DE where they had an amazing house located right on the bay!  The first night was filled with a taco dinner (their favorite) on a table of pink and purple with koozie souvenirs I had made for each girl, bachelorette games and prizes, and a night out on the town with the guests dressed in denim and black and the bride full bachelorette attire.  The second night I hired a professional pole dancing teacher who came and set up at the house while the girls were out to dinner.  When Lauren walked into this surprise her face was priceless.  There was a table set up for "dress up" which included shoes with up to 10 inch heels, boas, masks, and a ton of other goodies!  The professional conducted a lesson with some "moves" and then each girl was given the opportunity to perform to a song of their choices.  Some of them even had their performances recorded for loved ones back at home.  Needless to say this was a perfect bachelorette party for the perfect bachelorette!
